Wilton Final Cake - Course Two

I wrapped up my second Wilton cake decorating course just recently and I had a great time! I have to admit, I'm kind of glad that I'm not taking course 3 right now (co-ed volleyball and softball teams take up too much time). Don't get me wrong, I loved the classes but spending Sundays making batch after batch after batch of buttercream was becoming a little tiresome.

Anyways! Back to the cake!

Okay so I'm learning quickly that cake decorating might not be my strong suit. Those flowers were tough! And that basketweave? Holy cow my hand hurt when I was only 1/4 of the way finished!

As for the bluebirds, well... they're just ugly :)

My coworkers didn't seem to mind that my basketweave was a little, ummm, off. They dug right in.

(I used Spring Funfetti boxed (GASP!) cake mix and filled it will a raspberry pastry filling)

Oooh pretty!

your cake looks awesome.

I just blogged about my course 2 final cake two. I broke my birds before they ever made it to my cake but I liked it better without.

You got through it and that's what counts. The flowers turned out great.
